Cardiovascular & Respiratory Physiology

Research Focus

Cardiovascular & Respiratory Physiology

The six laboratories within the focus group conduct research into cardiovascular and respiratory control in disease processes such as atherosclerosis, heart failure, obesity, pulmonary and systemic hypertension, kidney failure, obesity, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and cardiac arrhythmia.

Specific areas of interest include: acute and longterm hormonal and neural control of the heart and the vasculature of the lungs and kidneys, calcium signalling in cardiomyocytes and inflammation.

I love it how we are learning cutting edge research from people who are top in the world in their field of research.
